The case has been adjourned for further hearing.
The Nigerian government has withdrawn terrorism financing charges against former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, and his son, Abdulaziz.
CBI News reports that the prosecution informed the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday that the charges had been dropped as part of an amended five-count charge.
Malami, who served as Justice Minister under former President Muhammadu Buhari, and his son now face only charges related to unlawful possession of firearms, including a Sturm Magnum rifle and ammunition allegedly found at their residence in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, in December 2025.
CBI News noted that the prosecutor, Akinlolu Kehinde, representing the Department of State Services (DSS), confirmed the amendment in court. Malami and his son pleaded not guilty to the fresh charges.
