Tinubu govt declares April 3 and 6, 2026 as public holidays for Easter celebration.
The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration.
CBI News reports that the announcement was made by the Federal Government through the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, the minister congratulated Christians in Nigeria and the diaspora on the occasion.
Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to reflect the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance, and love, as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
He also called on citizens to uphold tolerance and community spirit, stressing that such values are essential for strengthening national unity.
The minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to policies aimed at fostering national rebirth, economic growth, and shared prosperity for all Nigerians.
