Seen those viral timetables telling you to report for Customs screening next week? The Nigeria Customs Service says they are completely false, do not fall for them.
Right, here's what is actually happening, as reported by cbinewstv:
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has called out two documents flying around WhatsApp, Facebook and X that claim to list screening dates and venues for candidates who passed the Computer-Based Test in the 2024/2025 recruitment.
In a blunt "FAKE NEWS ALERT" posted on its verified X account on Wednesday, the Service said the papers did not come from them at all.
"The attention of the Nigeria Customs Service has been drawn to fake content currently circulating on social media. The NCS wishes to state clearly that these claims are false and did not originate from the Service," the statement read.
The forged notices, which the NCS stamped with a big red "FAKE", even went as far as listing early June 2026 dates, zonal venues, dress codes and ID requirements. None of it is authorised.
The NCS is asking applicants to bin the messages and wait only for updates from its official channels. That frustration is understandable, the 2024/2025 process has dragged on for months, with applications, CBT, and then a portal in May 2026 for shortlisted candidates to update their profiles ahead of the real physical screening.
A reminder they keep repeating: the entire recruitment is free. No one should pay a kobo to any individual, agent or website for forms, shortlists or screening slots. The Service has also warned that fraudsters are exploiting the delay to extort desperate applicants.
So, if someone sends you a PDF with a Customs logo and a June date, double-check it on customs.gov.ng or the NCS verified X, Facebook and Instagram pages before you travel anywhere.
