Nigeria’s drone industry is set for a major transformation as the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) unveils a new digital portal designed to simplify drone registration, regulation, and operations across the country.
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced plans to officially launch its Drone/Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) portal during the 6th Africa International Drone Technology Conference and Exhibition, DroneTecX 2026.
The conference is scheduled to hold from May 12 to 16 at the NIGAV Expo Centre, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos State.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, the NCAA described the initiative as a significant milestone aimed at streamlining drone regulations and accelerating the growth of Nigeria’s drone industry.
CBINews reports that, according to the authority, drone operators, service providers, stakeholders, and prospective users are encouraged to explore the platform ahead of its official rollout.
Interested participants can visit the RPAS portal via www.rpas.ncaa.gov.ng and attend DroneTecX 2026 for live demonstrations and practical guidance on using the platform.
The new portal is expected to reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks, improve operational efficiency, and support the rapid expansion of drone technology in Nigeria.
