It was a landslide win in Nasarawa North as Governor Abdullahi Sule swept aside his challenger to clinch the APC senatorial ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to cbinews.tv, Governor Abdullahi Sule has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District after recording a commanding victory in the party’s primary election held on Tuesday.
Sule polled an impressive 47,393 votes, defeating former Deputy Governor and immediate past Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment, Silas Ali Agara, who secured 2,915 votes.
The outcome means the governor won by a margin of more than 44,000 votes, further cementing his political dominance in the district ahead of the 2027 polls.
Announcing the result in Akwanga, the Returning Officer, Musa Guri, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and credible.
“I, Musa Shuaibu Guri, Chairman of the Senatorial Primary Elections Committee, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the Nasarawa North senatorial primary election held on the 18th day of May 2026,” he stated.
He added that “Audu Alhaji Sule got a total vote of 47,393, while the second aspirant, Silas Ali Agara, got a total vote of 2,915.”
Guri further declared that Sule fulfilled all constitutional requirements and APC guidelines, officially returning him as the party’s senatorial candidate for Nasarawa North.
