Nigeria’s insurance industry is taking a major digital leap as the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) issues its first operational licence to CBI Partnering InsurTech a move expected to widen insurance access and strengthen financial inclusion across the country.
According to cbinews.tv, the Federal Government’s drive to bring more Nigerians into the insurance sector has received a significant boost as the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) officially issued its first operational licence to CBI Partnering InsurTech.
Speaking during the landmark event, Deputy Commissioner for Insurance, Finance and Administration, Ekerete Ola Gam-Ikon, highlighted the growing importance of InsurTech in expanding insurance penetration through technology-driven solutions and improved digital accessibility.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of CBI Technologies, Tokunbo Awoyinka, explained that the InsurTech initiative is designed to close existing loopholes within the insurance system while helping more Nigerians gain access to insurance services through innovation and digital platforms.
The initiative is expected to deepen insurance penetration, improve transparency, and further drive financial inclusion within Nigeria’s insurance industry.
