Fancy a quick shot in a sachet? NAFDAC says that era is officially over.

Heads up, everyone. NAFDAC has kicked off a big nationwide sweep, and this time they’re coming for those small sachets and tiny PET bottles of alcohol.

According to cbinews.tv, the agency started coordinated raids on Wednesday across all six geopolitical zones. The target? Any alcoholic drinks in sachets and PET bottles smaller than 200ml.

Why now? It’s all tied to the Federal Government’s ban on producing, importing, distributing, selling, and even using those products. NAFDAC says they’ve already shut down non-compliant factories, and this market sweep is the next phase. So where are they checking? Everywhere.

NAFDAC teams are hitting markets, motor parks, bars, shops, and other retail spots to seize anything that shouldn’t be on the shelves.

The agency is also putting everyone on notice — manufacturers, importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, even transporters. If you’ve still got stock of the banned drinks, you’ve been told to surrender them immediately.

Keep selling or moving them anyway, and you could face sanctions, seizure, and prosecution, NAFDAC warned. The main reason behind this? Public health. The agency says the ban is meant to cut down on underage drinking, harmful alcohol consumption, and substance abuse, especially among young people.

NAFDAC is also calling on the public to help out. Don’t buy the banned products, and if you spot anyone producing, selling, or distributing them, report to the nearest NAFDAC office or use their official channels.
