Single man out, married man in — and with a brand new golden mane to match. Cristiano Ronaldo is back in Riyadh and he’s not come quietly.
Well, he certainly knows how to make an entrance.
Cristiano Ronaldo has rocked up to Al Nassr training with a striking new look — a copper-yellow, almost golden crop — just days after reportedly tying the knot with long-term partner Georgina Rodríguez in Portugal.
According to cbinews.tv, the 41-year-old Portuguese forward posted photos of himself back in Al Nassr’s training kit on Thursday with a one-word caption that said it all: “Back”. It’s a far cry from the dark brown buzz he sported throughout Portugal’s 2026 World Cup campaign, which ended in disappointment with a Round of 16 defeat to rivals Spain.
The timing is pure Ronaldo. He was given extended leave by Al Nassr following the tournament and what is understood to have been a private civil ceremony with Rodríguez on August 11th in Cascais. The couple, together for almost a decade and parents to five children, are said to have confirmed the news with a simple, elegant shot of their wedding bands. If true, it closes a long chapter for one of football’s most followed couples.
There was a warm welcome waiting for him in Riyadh. New Al Nassr boss Ange Postecoglou and the squad are reported to have greeted their captain with applause at the training ground — a nod to both his return and his recent nuptials. The club’s own social media leaned into the suspense too, teasing fans with a “guess who’s back?” post before revealing the new-look skipper.
Let’s put some context on it, because this isn’t just a haircut story.
When Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in late December 2022 after his Manchester United exit, many critics called it a retirement tour. He’s made a mockery of that. Last season, he finally delivered the big one — firing 28 league goals as Al Nassr clinched the Saudi Pro League title on 86 points, just two clear of bitter rivals Al Hilal. It was his first major trophy since arriving in Saudi Arabia, and crucially, the club’s first league crown since 2019.
Now the narrative shifts. At 41, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, husband, and still chasing that frankly absurd 1,000 career goals milestone — he’s currently on 897 official goals by most counts — Ronaldo is preparing to lead Al Nassr’s title defence. They kick off the new Saudi Pro League season against Al Fateh on August 15th.
And as ever, the fans had plenty to say.
One user, #SumolaIdowu, summed up the mood perfectly: “Started off a single man, now a married man. Congratulations Cristiano! May your new home last your lifetime.” #Symplyher14 added “Welcome back to the pitch my GOAT!” while #SundayOb kept it focused: “Welcome back to the team, time to perform and complete the 1000 goals target.”
Others couldn’t get past the hair. #CAgbawe wrote simply, “That hair Wow!”, #underthetre_e declared “This is absolute GOLD”, and #D_PenGame chimed in with “the GOAT is backkkkk congratulations on your wedding sir.”
Married man, golden hair, title to defend. You get the feeling Ronaldo isn’t done writing headlines just yet.
