CAF had stripped Senegal of their 2025 AFCON title...
The Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football said it had taken note of a ruling by the Confederation of African Football Appeal Board awarding the disputed 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final to the host nation.
In a statement on its official website, the federation said its appeal sought to ensure the proper application of competition rules rather than challenge the sporting merit of any team.
“The Federation reiterates that its approach has always been grounded in respect for the rules and stability of African competitions,” it said.
The FRMF also commended all participating countries, describing the tournament as significant for the development of African football.
It added that a detailed position would be issued after a meeting of its governing bodies scheduled for Wednesday, outlining its stance and any possible legal or administrative steps.
The decision by CAF’s Appeal Committee has fuelled debate over governance and regulatory consistency in African football, with stakeholders calling for clearer rules and more transparent decision-making processes.
Morocco’s response is expected to shape ongoing discussions on reforms and accountability within CAF structures.
