Bayern Munich legend Manuel Neuer is not done yet. The veteran goalkeeper has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the German club until 2027 as he prepares for his 16th season in Munich.
Veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is staying at Bayern Munich for another year after extending his contract until 2027, cbinews.tv reports.
The 40-year-old shot-stopper said it was an “easy decision” to remain with the German champions, adding that the current squad can compete against any team in the world.
Neuer, widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history, joined Bayern from Schalke in 2011 and has since built an incredible trophy collection.
The German legend has won two UEFA Champions League titles, a record-equalling 13 Bundesliga trophies and six German Cups during his glittering career.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup winner retired from international football in 2024 after making 124 appearances for Germany, but he continues to shine at club level.
Neuer was recently praised for his outstanding display against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final, where he picked up UEFA’s Man of the Match award.
According to reports from German outlet Bild, Neuer is expected to gradually play fewer matches during the 2026-27 season while helping Bayern prepare Jonas Urbig as the club’s future first-choice goalkeeper.
Bayern also confirmed that reserve goalkeeper Sven Ulreich has extended his stay for another season.
