London Mayor Plans Sharia Law - Donald Trump

Donald Trump claims London’s Muslim mayor wants to impose Sharia law, sparking swift fact-checks and condemnation.

In a blistering address before the United Nations General Assembly, U.S. President Donald Trump launched a sweeping attack on European migration policies and falsely claimed that London’s Muslim mayor is seeking to implement Sharia law.

CBI News reports that Trump repeatedly singled out the British capital while railing against what he described as the destructive effects of uncontrolled immigration.

“I look at London, where you have a terrible mayor, terrible, terrible mayor, and it’s been so changed,” Trump said.

“Now they want to go to Sharia law.”

The president offered no evidence to support the claim, which experts and UK officials have long dismissed as baseless.

Under British law, the United Kingdom remains a secular state, and Sharia is limited to voluntary civil arbitration in narrowly defined cases that cannot override national legislation.

Trump used the assertion as part of a broader argument warning that Europe is on the brink of collapse due to migration and what he called “suicidal” energy policies.

“Europe has been invaded by a force of illegal aliens like nobody has ever seen before,” he declared.

“Both the immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe if something is not done immediately.”

He further accused the United Nations of “funding an assault on Western countries and their borders,” claiming that international bodies were aiding the very migration trends he deems dangerous.

Doubling down on his remarks, Trump again insisted that London had been dramatically transformed under its current leadership.

“It’s been changed, it’s been so changed. Now they want to go to Sharia law. But you are in a different country, you can’t do that,” he said.

CBI News understands that fact-checkers and political analysts were quick to debunk the president’s comments, noting that while London’s mayor is Muslim, there is no legal mechanism or political movement to impose Sharia law on the city.
