CBI News takes you Live to Angola where Pope Leo XIV arrives in Luanda on Saturday, April 18, as part of a 10-day tour of Africa focused on promoting peace, reconciliation and strengthening the Catholic Church in the region.
During his visit, the pope is scheduled to take part in several religious and pastoral events, including a Holy Rosary prayer in front of the Mama Muxima Shrine and a Mass at the Saurimo esplanade.
He will also meet bishops, priests, consecrated men and women, and pastoral workers at the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima, as well as take part in additional engagements with local communities and Church leaders.
The tour began on Monday with a visit to Algeria and Cameroon, marking the first trip by a pope to the predominantly Sunni Muslim country. After Angola, the pontiff is scheduled to travel to Equatorial Guinea.

16 00 GMT – Meeting with authorities, civil society and the diplomatic corps
