Lagos State Government calls on residents and visitors to end open defecation and use toilets and public restrooms to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
The Lagos State Government has urged residents and visitors to stop open defecation as part of efforts to maintain cleanliness and public health across the state.
The advisory was shared on Sunday through a message posted on the state government’s official Facebook page, encouraging people to take responsibility for their surroundings.
The message called on residents to protect the environment and support efforts to keep the state clean and safe.
“Together, let’s keep Lagos clean, healthy, and dignified for everyone. The Lagos State Government urges all residents and visitors to end the practice of open defecation,” the statement read.
Authorities encouraged the public to prioritise hygiene and make use of available sanitation facilities.
“Choose health, respect, and a cleaner environment—use toilets and public restrooms,” the message added.
CBI News notes that the call forms part of ongoing efforts by the state government and sanitation agencies to improve environmental health standards and promote responsible waste management across Lagos.
