The agency said it was committed to protecting lives and property...
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said it responded to multiple emergency incidents across the state early on Sunday, underscoring what it described as swift coordination and operational efficiency.
The agency said it received a distress call at about 04:19 a.m. (0319 GMT) over a fire at an abandoned warehouse owned by Nuel Ojel Holdings Ltd. Firefighters from the Ikeja station arrived within minutes, supported by crews from Bolade, and forced entry through a locked perimeter to access the site and extinguish the blaze.
No casualties were reported and the cause of the fire was not immediately known. Investigations are ongoing, the service said.
In a separate incident at about 06:01 a.m., firefighters were deployed to a power facility in Adelabu, Masha area of Surulere, where a snapped lightning arrestor triggered a fire. The situation was brought under control without casualties, with the cause yet to be determined.
The agency added that it was also attending to a rescue operation involving a person trapped in a deep well in the Ikorodu area. Emergency responders remained on standby with support from the Nigeria Police Force to ensure a safe resolution.
The fire service urged residents to promptly report emergencies.
