Lagos State has approved 14 electricity licences covering off-grid power generation, mini-grids, metering, and independent distribution as part of efforts to improve electricity supply and attract private investment.
CBI News notes that the approvals, issued by the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC), include projects by Axxela Limited, Daybreak Power Solutions, and Isolo Power Gen Limited across major industrial facilities and residential clusters.
LASERC says the initiative is part of Lagos’ long-term strategy to decentralise power supply, improve electricity reliability, and achieve 97.5% electricity availability across the state by 2030.
