Kwankwaso plans to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of 2027 elections, with his movement’s members urged to register and participate actively in the party.
Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is set to formally join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday, March 30, 2026, according to a statement from the Kwankwasiyya Movement.
The movement’s spokesperson, Dr Habibu Sale Mohammed, said the directive comes as Kwankwaso finalises arrangements to defect to the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The Kwankwasiyya Movement wishes to formally inform all its members across Nigeria and the general public that our Supreme Leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has concluded all necessary arrangements to join the ADC,” the statement read.
CBI News notes that Kwankwaso will register at his residence, Gidan Kwankwasiyya, Miller Road, Kano, at 12 noon on Monday. Following this, the movement instructed all members to register with the party in their respective wards, local government areas, and states. Members are also encouraged to actively participate in party activities to support the growth and success of the ADC.
Dr Mohammed described the move as a strategic decision aimed at advancing democratic values, good governance, and the collective aspirations of Nigerians. He stressed the importance of protecting democracy and respecting the will of the people.
