Eyewitnesses described how he suddenly stopped talking, gradually collapsed to the floor, causing panic in the classroom.
The academic community of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden death of a lecturer in the Department of Public Administration, Mr. Anselm Victory Ojodomo (also referred to as Anselm Ahman Victory Ojodomo).
CBI News reports that the incident occurred on Thursday, March 26, 2026, around 10am, when Ojodomo slumped while actively delivering a lecture to his students.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention, but was confirmed dead on arrival despite efforts by medical personnel.
Ojodomo was described as a highly respected and widely loved lecturer known for his dedication to students. His death comes barely a month after another lecturer in the institution, Dr. Barnabas Akuba, passed away shortly after completing his PhD programme.
Some reports also mentioned multiple staff losses within a short period, heightening the sense of grief on campus.
CBI News reports that the Rector of the Polytechnic, Prof. Salihu Avidime, confirmed the incident in an official statement issued on Saturday, March 28, and signed by the Acting Coordinator of the Directorate of Public Relations, John Onimisi.
As of now, the exact cause of death has not been publicly disclosed, pending possible autopsy. The institution is yet to announce funeral arrangements.
Students and colleagues have taken to social media to express shock and pay tributes to the late lecturer, describing the loss as sudden and painful.
