Jalen Brunson scored 32 points as the New York Knicks extended their winning streak to seven games with a 121-116 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.
Brunson was one of seven Knicks players to finish in double figures, with Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby adding 21 points apiece at Madison Square Garden.
The win kept the Knicks in contention with the Boston Celtics for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
With less than three weeks remaining in the regular season, New York improved to 48-25, just behind Boston at 47-24, while the Detroit Pistons lead the standings at 52-19.
Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 22 points as the team remains out of playoff contention in the Western Conference.
Elsewhere, Donovan Mitchell scored 42 points to lift the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 136-131 win over the Orlando Magic, securing a fourth straight victory.
The Charlotte Hornets boosted their playoff hopes with a 134-90 rout of the Sacramento Kings.
The Hornets are among three Eastern Conference teams with identical 38-34 records, while the Philadelphia 76ers sit at 39-33, just outside the final automatic playoff spot held by the Atlanta Hawks (40-22).
