It is a heartbreaking moment for the family of former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun as they announce the passing of her beloved husband.
In a sad piece of news, businessman Mr Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, husband of former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun, has passed away.
According to a report by cbinews.tv, he died on Wednesday, 5th August 2026, in Lagos State. He was 62.
The news of his death was confirmed in an official statement titled “Announcement of the passing of Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun.” The statement was issued on behalf of the family by Rev. C. A. Adeosun and made available to journalists on Thursday.
The family described him as much more than a businessman. In their touching tribute, they called him a distinguished businessman and a devoted Christian whose life was defined by integrity, generosity and unwavering faith.
“It is with profound sorrow, yet in total submission to the will of Almighty God, that the Adeosun family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, and brother, Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, who was called home to glory on Wednesday, 5th August 2026, in Lagos,” the statement read.
They noted that he lived a life of hard work, service to God, and absolute commitment to his family and community, and that his impact was felt by everyone who knew him.
The family says they are finding comfort in God as they navigate this incredibly difficult period of mourning, describing his passing as an irreplaceable loss.
Details about his funeral and Christian burial arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
He is survived by his wife, former Minister Kemi Adeosun, his children and siblings, including Kuramo Capital founder Adewale Adeosun.
