A fresh chapter begins for Kelechi Iheanacho! The Super Eagles striker is heading to Turkey after turning down the chance to stay at Celtic.

According to cbinewstv, Nigerian international Kelechi Iheanacho has officially joined Turkish side Bursaspor after rejecting a new contract offer from Scottish champions Celtic.

The 29-year-old striker leaves Glasgow having played his part in Celtic's league and Scottish Cup double, despite an injury-hit campaign that limited his appearances.

Celtic were keen to keep Iheanacho and offered him fresh terms, but the former Leicester City and Manchester City forward has decided it's time for a new adventure in Turkey.

Bursaspor, who secured promotion to the Turkish second tier after winning the TFF Second League last season, confirmed the signing on Friday, unveiling the Nigerian in their famous green and white colours.

Iheanacho's exit comes at a tricky time for Celtic. The club are finding it difficult to strengthen their squad, with chief executive Michael Nicholson admitting they are losing out to wealthier English Championship clubs in the transfer market.

So far, Celtic have made just one summer signing, bringing in Colombian striker Camilo Duran from Qarabag. There's also uncertainty surrounding Japanese forward Daizen Maeda, whose contract is entering its final year.

Iheanacho arrived at Celtic as a free agent after leaving Sevilla following the 2025 summer transfer window. Although a hamstring injury disrupted much of his season, he still managed to score nine goals in all competitions, including six from the bench, helping Celtic win their final nine matches on the way to lifting the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish Cup.
