No drama, no fight — just silence. Kate Henshaw finally opens up about losing touch with Genevieve Nnaji, and honestly, it’s a bit heartbreaking.

So, here’s the tea — Kate Henshaw has just got real about her friendship with Genevieve Nnaji, and why the two Nollywood queens aren’t as close anymore. And no, there wasn’t a big blow-up.

Chatting on the Tea with Tay podcast, the 53-year-old screen legend admitted she’s still baffled by the distance that crept in between them.

“We grew apart. Maybe she had some kind of mistrust about me. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know what came over her,” Kate said. [cbinews.tv]

Back in the day, they were proper tight. Kate recalled how they used to turn up to events together, especially when Netflix first landed in Nigeria. But then… things just fizzled out. No argument, no scandal — just a slow fade that left her wondering, “Did I do something wrong?”

Plot twist though: they bumped into each other again on a Netflix commercial set in South Africa. And Genevieve? “She was very pleasant to me, she was very nice, and I was like… okayy?” Kate laughed. Awkward, much?

This isn’t the first time Kate’s spoken on it either. Way back in 2023, she joked about Genevieve’s habit of pulling away from people: “She pulls away from everybody, and you are like, am I smelling? What have I done?” She even compared Genevieve’s love for solitude to Angelina Jolie’s — and said she respects her choice.
