Former BBNaija housemate opens up about being a single mother.
Former Big Brother Naija star, Ka3na Jones, has spoken candidly about the emotional toll of losing her husband and the ongoing struggles of raising a child alone.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Ka3na reflected on the pain she continues to feel following the death of her husband, Mr. Jones, who passed away in May 2023 after battling cancer.
CBI News reports that she described the weight of single parenting as overwhelming, admitting that time has done little to ease her grief.
“I don’t believe I can ever get used to being a single parent. This sh!t is hard,” she wrote. “They say it gets easier with time… LIEEEEES! They only grow… The anxiety, the grief, the responsibility. The sacrifices!!!”
Ka3na shared that nothing could have prepared her for the heartbreak of losing her spouse so early in life, particularly while raising their daughter.
“Trust me, nobody ever tells you, ‘Hey Katie, this amazing man you’re about to marry only has five more years to live, make every second count.’ Or, ‘Don’t rush into having kids… he’s going to die and leave you a widow and a single mother in your prime.’”
Despite the challenges, Ka3na said she had no regrets about her choices.
“Would I have done anything differently if I knew? Honestly, no. Because I can’t imagine my world right now without my baby girl. I miss Mr. Jones every passing day.”
The reality TV star also admitted to feeling exhausted and emotionally drained at times.
“But am I angry sometimes? Tired? Worn out? Yes. Do I wish someone would just look at me and say, ‘Katie, take a break… I got this’? Absolutely!!! I. Am. Tired.”
