Football fans could be witnessing the return of one of the game’s most iconic managers as José Mourinho edges closer to a dramatic comeback at Real Madrid.
According to reports monitored by cbinews.tv, José Mourinho has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to return as Real Madrid manager in what could become one of football’s biggest comeback stories.
The Portuguese tactician, famously known as “The Special One,” is said to have agreed to an initial two-year deal with the Spanish giants, although official paperwork is still being finalized.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed on X on Monday that Mourinho is expected to travel to Madrid after Real Madrid’s final La Liga clash against Athletic Bilbao, where the remaining formalities are expected to be completed.
“All terms have been verbally agreed between José Mourinho and Real Madrid, waiting to sign all documents. Plan for initial two-year deal, JM to travel to Madrid after Real-Bilbao game. The Special One is back,” Romano posted.
If confirmed, this would mark Mourinho’s second stint at the Santiago Bernabéu after his successful first spell between 2010 and 2013. During that period, he guided Real Madrid to a La Liga title, Copa del Rey triumph, and Spanish Super Cup victory.
While the club is yet to make an official announcement, excitement is already building among fans eager to see Mourinho back on the Madrid touchline.
Real Madrid are expected to confirm the appointment in the coming days once all contractual details are completed.
