JAMB releases first batch of 2026 UTME results...
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results for candidates who participated in the first batch of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin confirmed that the results are currently available for viewing, though printing is not yet enabled.
CBI News reports that the Board also issued a strong warning against attempts to manipulate result messages sent through its official SMS platform.
It cautioned that altering scores to mislead others, including parents, is a criminal offence that will be treated seriously.
“Candidates are strongly cautioned against manipulating the SMS received from the official platform (55019/66019) to fabricate or alter scores with the intent to mislead others, including parents. Such actions constitute a serious criminal offence. The Board treats such misconduct with the utmost gravity,” the statement read.
JAMB further revealed that two candidates and one parent have been arrested for engaging in result falsification using artificial intelligence and other electronic means.
It stated that those involved will face prosecution in line with the law.
“Currently, two candidates and one parent are in custody for engaging in result falsification using AI and other electronic means. Any candidate found culpable will face the full consequences of the law,” the Board added.
Candidates have been advised to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number registered for the examination.
The Board noted that the examination is still ongoing and results will continue to be released in batches as they become available.
