JAMB announces April as the beginning of its UTME...
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
CBI News reports that the mock exercise serves as a preparatory test for candidates ahead of the main UTME.
Candidates who participated in the mock examination were asked to check their results by sending “MOCKRESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019.
JAMB said the message must be sent using the same phone number used during registration for the 2026 UTME.
According to JAMB, a total of 224,597 candidates registered for the mock examination, while 152,586 candidates successfully sat for the test. The exam body said the exercise was conducted across 989 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.
The Board disclosed that more than 20 CBT centres experienced technical issues during the exercise and have subsequently been delisted due to inadequate performance.
JAMB stated that the action is part of efforts to ensure a seamless examination process going forward, as it l issued a strong warning to candidates to avoid falling victim to fraudsters, especially those operating on WhatsApp, who falsely claim they can upgrade UTME scores.
The Board emphasised that such activities are illegal and could lead to severe consequences, warning that candidates found engaging in examination malpractice or score manipulation risk having their registration cancelled.
It noted that in cases where such infractions are discovered after the examination, results may be withheld or withdrawn.
The Board further reminded candidates that the main UTME is scheduled to commence on Thursday, April 16, 2026, urging all candidates to remain focused and adequately prepared.
