"I never in my wildest dreams would have thought that Qatar would be - Qatar and the region - in such an attack, especially from a brotherly Muslim country in the month of Ramadan, attacking us in this way," Kaabi said in an interview.
Iran has dealt a significant blow to Qatar's liquefied natural gas (LNG) export capacity, knocking out 17% of its production.
CBI News learnt that this is expected to result in an estimated $20 billion in lost annual revenue and threatens supplies to Europe and Asia.
The attacks, which damaged two of Qatar's 14 LNG trains and one of its two gas-to-liquids facilities, will sideline 12.8 million tons per year of LNG for three to five years, according to QatarEnergy's CEO, Saad al-Kaabi.
The incident has led to concerns about global energy security, with Qatar being the world's second-largest LNG exporter.
The country's energy facilities, particularly the Ras Laffan Industrial City, suffered "extensive damage" from the Iranian missile strikes.
