Flooding and landslides leave dozens missing and hundreds displaced.
Heavy rain in Brazil's southeast has killed at least 14 people, with others missing and more than 400 displaced, authorities in Minas Gerais state said Tuesday.
The mayor's office in Juiz de Fora municipality said people were missing after flooding, landslides, and the overflowing of a river, without specifying the exact number.
Local media reported 45 people missing, with the Minas Gerais fire department confirming the figure "in principle" but saying it was too early to provide an exact count.
Juiz de Fora's mayor, Margarida Salomao, declared a state of emergency over the "intense and persistent" rainfall.
Official figures show this month has been the rainiest February on record in Juiz de Fora, a city of about 540,000 people.
