Tragedy struck in Benue State on Monday as Hon. Ejeh Udeh, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Otukpo.
Reports said the assailants stormed his residence in the Ugboju area of Otukpo around midnight and opened fire on him in front of his family members.
Eyewitnesses told journalists that the killers arrived on a motorcycle and ambushed Udeh shortly after he returned home.
“They surrounded him as soon as he entered his compound and shot him multiple times,” a source told Daily Post.
The politician’s remains have been deposited at the Otukpo General Hospital morgue.
Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
