More than 20,000 seafarers stranded in the Gulf region are reportedly battling fear, exhaustion and trauma as the ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran disrupts maritime activities.
CBI News reports that Maritime charities revealed that crew members aboard vessels have witnessed drones, missile strikes and attacks on ships, leaving many traumatised and uncertain about their safety. At least 11 seafarers have reportedly been killed since the crisis intensified.
Experts warn that prolonged instability around the Strait of Hormuz could trigger deeper humanitarian and economic consequences for global shipping.
