Northern group urges Tinubu to implement pensions appointment
A civic group, the Northern Empowerment Initiative, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to implement the appointment of Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Idris Adamu (Rtd) as Chairman of the Military Pensions Board.
The group said the appointment, announced and gazetted to take effect from December 1, 2025, had yet to be implemented.
It noted that the delay had persisted for several months, adding that the Military Pensions Board plays a key role in administering pensions and benefits to retired military personnel.
According to the Initiative, the situation has continued to draw attention to the management and delivery of entitlements to veterans and their families.
The group reiterated the need for authorities to address issues affecting military retirees.
