Former Nigerian Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retired) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as efforts to address key national challenges.
Gowon made the remarks after a courtesy visit to the President at the State House in Abuja, where he said he came primarily to appreciate the administration’s work and encourage the President in his leadership.
The elder statesman said Nigerians should acknowledge the progress being made under the Tinubu administration across political, economic and social sectors.
While noting that insecurity remains a major concern, Gowon expressed confidence in the President’s commitment to tackling the challenge.
General Gowon further urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, stressing that addressing the country’s challenges ultimately rests with the government, which he believes is doing its best.
