Femi Gbajabiamila advises Leke Abejide to remain in the ADC...
The Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has advised the member of the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide, to remain in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) despite growing political pressure to defect.
CBI News reports that Gbajabiamila gave the advice during Abejide’s birthday celebration, where he also commended the lawmaker’s influence within his faction of the party.
According to him, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) appreciates Abejide’s political activities within the ADC and would prefer he stays in the party.
“Don’t come to APC. Stay in ADC and scatter them. We like what you’re doing,” Gbajabiamila said, adding that even calls from political figures such as former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello should not be heeded.
He further encouraged Abejide to remain focused and secure his political future within his current party, while also expressing readiness to support his electoral ambitions.
Meanwhile, tensions within the African Democratic Congress continue to deepen following fresh claims from factional leader Nafiu Bala.
Bala alleged in an interview on AIT that he was misled into attending a party event he believed was a routine gathering for new members but later discovered it was used to announce a leadership reshuffle led by David Mark.
He said the situation became clear only after proceedings began, adding that the development marked a turning point in the party’s internal disputes.
Bala also questioned the process that led to the emergence of new leadership structures, saying it raised concerns among some members within the party.
