Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has revealed how the political crisis in the Lagos State House of Assembly almost cost him his job — all because of allegations linking Desmond Elliot to the speakership tussle involving Mudashiru Obasa.
According to cbinews.tv, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has opened up on how he nearly lost his position during the Lagos Assembly crisis linked to the speakership tussle involving Mudashiru Obasa.
Speaking at a constituency stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos, Gbajabiamila said President Bola Tinubu personally questioned him over allegations that Desmond Elliot was involved in moves to destabilise the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Gbajabiamila said he immediately defended Elliot, insisting he was not among those allegedly working against the Assembly leadership. However, he later warned the actor-turned-politician to stay away from the controversy entirely.
He also disclosed that days later, he was informed that his own name had surfaced as someone allegedly backing Desmond Elliot in a plot to push for impeachment during the Assembly saga.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives said he instructed Elliot to publicly distance himself from the allegations, but claimed the lawmaker failed to do so.
