One of the world’s richest men is heading behind closed doors on Capitol Hill — and it’s all about his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
According to a report from cbinews.tv, Bill Gates is set to testify privately before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday. This comes after the Department of Justice released a fresh batch of Jeffrey Epstein files earlier this year, reigniting questions about just how close the Microsoft co-founder was to the late convicted sex offender.
What’s happening:
The committee asked for Gates’ voluntary cooperation after the DOJ document dump revealed some pretty wild, unverified claims. The files suggest there was more philanthropic coordination between Gates and Epstein than we previously knew about. Wednesday’s session marks the committee’s 15th interview, with both Republicans and Democrats expected to press Gates on the extent of that relationship.
Gates isn’t the only big name caught up in the Epstein files. Others like Howard Lutnick and Bill Clinton have also popped up in videos or photos released from the DOJ’s case files.
The most explosive bits:
cbinews.tv reports that the real bombshells are two draft emails from July 2013 that Epstein appears to have written to himself. Full of typos and ranting, the notes claim Epstein arranged sexual encounters for Gates and even helped him get medication to hide a sexually transmitted infection from his then-wife, Melinda.
One draft alleges Epstein got Gates drugs “to deal with consequences of sex with russian girls” and “illicit trysts, with married women.” It also mentions Gates asking for Adderall for bridge tournaments. The other claims Gates was in tears asking Epstein to delete messages about an STD and “explicit personal details about his penis.”
Key context you need:
- It’s not clear who actually wrote the drafts or if they were ever sent — they’re addressed from Epstein to himself.
- The allegations are completely unverified and uncorroborated.
- Gates hasn’t been accused of any criminal wrongdoing related to Epstein.
Gates’ response:
Gates has flatly denied the claims. A rep told CNN: “These claims are absolutely absurd and completely false. The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame.”
Speaking to CNN affiliate Nine News Australia back in February, Gates said: *“Apparently Jeffrey wrote an email to himself. That email was never sent, the email is you know, false… every minute I spent with him I regret.”* He added he was only ever at dinners, never went to Epstein’s island, and never met any women there.
Back in 2021, he told Anderson Cooper: “It was a huge mistake to spend time with him, to give him the credibility of being there.”
So, Wednesday’s closed-door session is set to be one of the highest-profile moments yet in Congress’s Epstein probe — and all eyes will be on what Gates says under questioning.
