Suspect in custody as authorities investigate attack at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School.
Four children have been brutally stabbed to death at a school in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, police say.
A 34-year-old suspect has been arrested, but the motive for the killings remains under investigation, according to Uganda’s police.
The victims, aged two to three, were reportedly attacked after the suspect gained access to the school by posing as a parent, local residents told the Daily Monitor.
Police and crime scene investigators are at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School in the Makindye Division, with senior officers, including Police Chief Abas Byakagaba, briefing officials on the situation.
Videos circulating on social media show crowds of distressed and angry people at the scene. The suspect was quickly apprehended to prevent a potential lynching, local journalist Erich Mboowa reported.
