Tenure ends after 10 matches amid World Cup qualifying disappointment.
Former Senegal coach Aliou Cisse has resigned as head of the Libyan national team after just 10 matches, he announced on Wednesday.
His final two games were draws in friendlies against Niger and Liberia last month.
“This March has been very special for me as it marked my last gathering as coach of the Libyan national team,” Cisse said. “This adventure has been incredibly enriching, both professionally and personally.”
Cisse led his native Senegal from 2015 to 2024, guiding them to their first Africa Cup of Nations title in 2021 after losing the 2019 final.
CBI News reports that Libya missed out on a first World Cup appearance this year, finishing third in their qualifying group behind Cameroon and Cape Verde.
