Police confirm four dead bodies recovered so far...
Five people are feared dead and several others missing following a weekend attack on Tse Amen community in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the incident, but says four bodies were officially recovered.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, who confirmed the attack, said investigations are ongoing.
CBI News gathered that suspected armed herders invaded the community on Saturday night, killing five residents.
A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the victims include three men and two women, adding that many others are still unaccounted for.
Meanwhile, Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has sympathised with the affected community.
The governor has directed security agencies to go after the attackers and ensure they are brought to justice.
He also urged residents to support security efforts by providing useful information to authorities.
