A quiet evening in northern Germany turned tragic after gunfire erupted at a youth centre, leaving five people dead.
Five people have died following a shooting at a youth centre in Stade, northern Germany, police have confirmed.
Two people have been arrested. One of them is considered a suspect, a police spokesperson told reporters. Officers have not yet released details on the ages of the victims or what might have motivated the attack, cbinews.tv reports.
A number of other people were injured in the shooting, but police say there is no further threat to the public.
Large numbers of emergency personnel are currently at the scene. Police have urged people to avoid the area while investigations continue.
Stade is home to around 50,000 people and sits west of Hamburg.
