Fintiri assures residents of their safety..
Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has strongly condemned the recent attacks on communities in Madagali and Hong Local Government Areas, describing them as “cowardly acts of terrorism” that will not be tolerated.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the Governor warned perpetrators to desist from further violence or face decisive consequences.
“We will not let terrorists undermine our efforts to restore peace and stability,” Governor Fintiri said. “I warn perpetrators: desist from these senseless attacks or face the full weight of our collective resolve.”
The Governor reassured residents of the state government’s unwavering commitment to defeating terrorism and safeguarding lives and property. He emphasised that Adamawa had overcome similar security challenges in the past and would do so again.
“We have done this before, and we are determined to do it again,” he stated, pledging continued collaboration with security agencies to protect citizens and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
Governor Fintiri urged residents of the affected communities and the state at large to remain calm and go about their lawful activities without fear.
“We have your back. We will protect you and your livelihoods,” he assured.
He also commended security agencies for their bravery and dedication in confronting criminal elements, pledging sustained government support to enhance their operations.
The Governor further appealed to the people of Adamawa to remain united and supportive of ongoing efforts to secure lasting peace in the state.
“Together, we will triumph over terrorism and build a brighter future,” he added.
