Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has made fresh changes to Adamawa’s cabinet, sworn in a new Information Commissioner, and approved multi-billion naira road projects across Yola South and Hong LGAs.
According to cbinews.tv, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved a minor reshuffle in the State Executive Council, with immediate changes affecting key ministries across the state.
The announcement was made during the Executive Council meeting, where the government also approved major road construction projects worth over ₦26 billion.
As part of the reshuffle, Mohammed Chubado moved from the Ministry of Energy Development to the Ministry of Health, while Sali Idris was redeployed from Livestock Development to the Ministry of Agriculture. Usman Lamurde also takes over the Ministry of Livestock Development after serving as Commissioner for Special Duties.
The council also witnessed the swearing-in of Leder Leneke as the new Commissioner for Information and Strategy after his confirmation by the Adamawa State House of Assembly. He replaces James Iliya, who stepped down to pursue political ambitions.
In terms of infrastructure, the council approved the construction of a 31-kilometre township road project in Kofare, Yola South LGA, valued at over ₦23 billion. Another 3.1-kilometre rural road project in Hildi, Hong LGA, was also approved at a cost of about ₦3 billion.
The state government further restated its ban on indiscriminate posters on public infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, and government buildings, warning that offenders will face sanctions.
