Heading home for Sallah? The Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road just got easier to navigate, with completed sections now open for the festive rush.
As reported by cbinewstv, the Minister of Works,David Umahi, has ordered Infiouest Nigeria Limited, the contractor handling the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Road project, to open all completed sections of the highway immediately. The move is meant to ease travel for commuters during the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
According to a statement issued yesterday in Abuja by his Media Aide, Francis Nwaze, Umahi said the directive would ensure safer and smoother journeys throughout the festive period.
He added that an earlier accident on the road had been fully cleared, and security agencies have been deployed to strategic points along the route to maintain law and order.
The minister assured road users that safety would be prioritised throughout the Sallah holidays. Parts of the road were previously closed to traffic to allow ongoing reconstruction works to be completed.
