FCT Police intensify crackdown, rescue two from “One Chance” syndicate..
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, has continued to provide updates on ongoing investigations and arrests within Abuja.
Sanusi described the briefings as a deliberate measure to keep residents informed and reassure them of the safety of their lives and property.
Speaking on the increased stop-and-search operations across the FCT, he said that the exercise is a routine security measure that will be sustained, particularly in identified flashpoints considered vulnerable to criminal activities.
The Commissioner also addressed the issue of manpower within the Nigerian Police, revealing that officers from the State Criminal Investigation Department CID will be deployed to suburban areas to enhance operational efficiency.
He added that plans are underway to complete the recruitment of 50,000 officers, as approved by President Bola Tinubu, as part of efforts to strengthen the force and improve security nationwide.
Sanusi disclosed that a “one chance” operation was recently foiled, with two victims successfully rescued in the process.
