Seen a police recruitment shortlist flying around WhatsApp or Facebook? Don’t get caught out — the Police Service Commission says it’s 100% fake.
Right, let’s clear this up — because dodgy lists are making the rounds again.
According to cbinews.tv, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has come out swinging against a so-called “police recruitment shortlist” that’s been doing the rounds on social media. Their verdict? Completely fake. Please ignore it.
Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs at the PSC in Abuja, put out a statement on Monday setting the record straight: “The attention of the Police Service Commission has been drawn to a fake list currently circulating on social media, purporting to be a shortlist of candidates scheduled for medical examination.”
So, what’s actually happening? The PSC says they haven’t released any shortlist yet. The written exam results are still being wrapped up. If you’ve made it through, you’ll hear from them directly in the coming days — but only through proper channels.
That means email, SMS, the official recruitment portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, or other verified PSC platforms. If it didn’t come from one of those, bin it.
The Commission doubled down on its promise to keep recruitment fair and merit based. As they put it, the strength of the police force really does depend on getting the right people in.
Their advice to applicants and the public: stay sharp. Fraudsters are out there, and fake news spreads fast. Stick to official PSC channels for any updates on the recruitment process.
