A Factional Southwest Zonal Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said it remains committed to delivering democratic dividends to Nigerians despite what it described as sustained efforts to weaken its influence nationwide.
The party said it would continue to position itself as a viable alternative, anchored on people-focused governance, stability and national progress.
Zonal Publicity Secretary Sanya Atofarati made the remarks in Ibadan, expressing confidence that the PDP would field credible candidates in the forthcoming governorship elections in Osun and Ekiti states and secure victory at the polls.
“Despite attempts to muffle our voice, we remain unwavering in our determination to serve Nigerians and deepen democracy,” Atofarati said.
Speaking on behalf of the zonal leadership, he added that the committee stands in solidarity with Nigerians amid prevailing economic and security challenges across the country.
