Nigerian Football Legend Henry Nwosu Is Dead.
Nigeria’s football community has been thrown into mourning following the death of former Super Eagles midfielder Henry Nwosu.
He was one of the standout players in the country’s historic victory at the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations.
The legendary Nigerian footballer passed away after a brief illness.
CBI News learnt that he died at 4:00 am today at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where he had been receiving treatment since Wednesday.
Nwosu, a member of Nigeria’s victorious 1980 AFCON squad, was known as the ‘Youngest Millionaire’.
He was a recipient of the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) award.
Former footballer Segun Odegbami, who announced Nwosu’s passing, described him as a remarkable individual and expressed his deep sorrow. “May he rest peacefully with our Creator in Heaven,” Odegbami wrote.
