Ekiti’s deputy governor was at the polls early and she liked what she saw. Voters turned out in their numbers, and she says Oyebanji will win by a wide margin.
Ekiti State Deputy Governor and APC deputy governorship candidate Monisade Afuye cast her vote on Saturday morning, cbinews.tv, reports.
She voted at 8:50 am at her polling unit, Atiba Aafin Ward 1, Polling Unit 003 in Ikere Ekiti.
Afuye was full of praise for voters. She said she was impressed by their sense of patriotism and the way they turned out in large numbers to carry out their civic responsibility in the Ekiti governorship election.
She also gave credit to the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies. She said their impartiality helped make the election peaceful across the state.
“You can see for yourselves how people trooped out to participate in this election,” she said. “Not only trooping out, but being ready and anxious to participate in the voting. I am indeed impressed with this conduct of our voters.”
When asked to predict the result, Afuye did not hold back. She said Governor Biodun Oyebanji had served Ekiti with dedication and is widely seen as having performed well.
She was confident the APC would come out on top. “Governor Oyebanji is not only winning this election, it is going to be with a wide margin,” she said.
