Good news for livestock traders and residents in Bauchi as the state government has temporarily reopened suspended cattle markets ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
Bauchi State Government has lifted the suspension on commercial activities in selected cattle markets ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
According to cbinews.tv, the affected markets across Alkaleri, Bauchi, Kirfi and Tafawa Balewa LGAs were earlier shut down in April over security concerns.
The decision, approved by Governor Bala Mohammed, is expected to last for two weeks to allow residents purchase sacrificial animals for the Sallah festival.
Officials say security agencies, local authorities and traditional rulers will continue monitoring activities to ensure peace and safety across the markets.
