Governor Ahmadu Fintiri calls on Nigerians to prioritise love, forgiveness, and harmonious coexistence during Eid-el-Fitri, urging vigilance and safety measures for peace and national growth.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has called on Nigerians to embrace tolerance and unity across ethnic and religious lines to strengthen the nation.
In a statement released on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri congratulated residents on Eid-el-Fitri and emphasised that peace, unity, and fairness are crucial for Nigeria’s sustainable development.
“Nigerians should adopt the values of love, tolerance, forgiveness, and brotherhood exemplified by the holy month of Ramadan,” he said. “The country can only progress if citizens prioritise harmonious coexistence and brotherly love.”
The governor also appealed to traditional and religious leaders to promote vigilance and security awareness during and after the festivities. He advised citizens to avoid crowded areas and adhere to safety measures throughout the Sallah period.
Fintiri highlighted Eid-el-Fitri as a period to reaffirm love, respect for Allah, and humanity, while underscoring the importance of national unity and service. He commended Adamawa residents for peaceful coexistence despite diverse backgrounds and acknowledged the state’s development over the past seven years.
The governor encouraged continued public support for government programmes aimed at inclusive growth and sustainable development, while praising security agencies for maintaining peace and expressing optimism that stability could improve through collective effort.
