David Kennedy will serve as the interim CFO, as Dell reaffirms its financial forecasts.
Dell Technologies' Chief Financial Officer, Yvonne McGill, will resign from her position effective September 9. The announcement marks the end of McGill's nearly three-decade career with the PC maker.
In a statement on Monday, the company announced that David Kennedy, who has been with Dell for 27 years, will serve as the interim CFO. Kennedy currently holds the title of senior vice president of Global Business Operations, Finance.
McGill will remain with the company in an advisory capacity to assist with a smooth transition through October 31.
Dell clarified the reason for the departure in a statement, saying that McGill's decision to resign "is not the result of any disagreements with the company on any matter relating to its financial statements, internal control over financial reporting, operations, policies or practices."
CBI News reports that the company also reaffirmed the third-quarter and full-year forecasts it had issued last month. This move is a clear signal to investors that the leadership change does not reflect any underlying financial issues. Despite this, the company's shares were down 1.8% in after-hours trading following the announcement.
