Deadly Night in Kyiv: Russian Ballistic Strike Kills 14

It was another terrifying night in Kyiv.
In what officials are calling one of the deadliest attacks on the capital this year, Russia has pounded Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones overnight, killing 14 people and injuring at least 22.
According to a report by cbinews.tv, the assault began just after midnight on Wednesday, with air raid sirens blaring across the city for over an hour as wave after wave of missiles slammed into the city and its outskirts.
The head of Kyiv’s military administration, Timur Tkachenko, said the “enemy is once again massively attacking the Kyiv region,” adding that the barrage damaged residential buildings and warehouses.
Tkachenko confirmed nine people were killed in the Boryspil district, four in Bucha, and one in Fastiv.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned that people could still be trapped under rubble after strikes hit the centre of the city. He said on Telegram that four of the injured are in a serious condition.
“The enemy is once again deliberately striking civilians and civilian infrastructure,” Kyiv’s military administration said.
So far, there has been no comment from Russia.
The strike comes as both sides ramp up attacks. Russia has intensified its bombardment of Kyiv in recent weeks, while Ukraine has stepped up strikes on Russian civilian infrastructure, including power facilities.
As reported by cbinews.tv, it also repeatedly targeted depots of Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries, with five people killed and 10 wounded in the Moscow region on Tuesday morning in the latest attack on its warehouses.
Just a day earlier, Russian officials said seven people were killed and 58 injured in a drone attack on a packed beach in the southern Krasnodar region.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has expressed outrage over a video showing a man being chased by a drone in Kherson, calling it a deliberate “hunt” and “safari” targeting civilians.
Both sides have denied deliberately targeting civilians.
Ukraine is now urgently appealing to its allies for more US-made Patriot interceptors to defend against the ballistic missile onslaught.
